Objective

Provide full spectrum of information architecture services, including architecture visualizations and information analytics, supportive of Systems Engineering, Enterprise Architecture & Operations Analysis.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Prototyped a Technology Portfolio Management tool which ultimately became the genesis of a new company called Flashmap Systems. Transformed vision into company's flagship product (FlashAtlas), an enterprise-level web-based application. Customers included: A&P, Dow Corning, Exelon, Fleet, Goodyear, Hewlett-Packard, International Paper, Raytheon, Waste Management.
  • Spearheaded effort to overhaul an existing product design and architecture to better address emerging customer requirements. Resulted in next generation product offering (ITatlas). Facilitated effort with extremely limited resources while simultaneously supporting ongoing business needs. Oversaw all aspects of project (interface design, application architecture, customer reviews, usability testing, code reviews, etc.). Customers included: Bank of America, Northrop Grumman, Qualcomm, Shell, WaMu.
  • Developed plan to transition what had historically been a consulting business (Hewitt Technologies) into a product business. This laid the groundwork for what would become a new spin-off company (Flashmap Systems).
  • Developed and produced multiple seminars, workshops, and conference events. Familiar with all phases of project (program development, sales & marketing, logistics, acquiring speakers, etc.).
  • Designed a user interface for Shell Oil which allowed users from various sub-organizations worldwide to have their own personalized views of portal data.
  • Prototyped concept for a user interface that Raytheon could use to replace an outdated internal system. The new design provided a technology standards dashboard showing usage across all branches of the enterprise.
  • Interfaced with IT management at John Hancock to develop an application that would tie business initiatives to IT service capabilities. Previously this had not been possible because of the way groups functioned as autonomous silos within the parent organization.
  • Modeled HP's technology assets prior to merger with Compaq.
  • Collaborated in a successful business development effort to build a relationship between Rolls Royce and Strategic Communications for the purpose of publishing IETMs (Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals) for the US Navy’s new fleet of LCS ships.
  • Initiated the concept and design for a contextual diagram that would represent a global view of the technology industry. Computerworld purchased rights to publish poster version. Distribution exceeded 1 million copies.
  • Built a series of self-guided animation scenarios to show how Lawson enterprise software components can be pieced together to address a wide range of business needs. Benefit was immense because it allowed sales people in the field to show customers not only how the technology works, but also to do live cost-benefit analysis using customer numbers.
  • Assisted Northrop Grumman with the design and development of a set of interactive portal entry points. The entry points provide efficient navigation for experienced users as well as an intuitive starting point for users who are new to the portal.
  • Produced interactive 3-D Scenario Cubes to represent data spanning multiple axis (e.g. Tasks, Actions, Cycles).
  • Built an interactive timeline in preparation for celebration of the US Navy’s 200th anniversary showing key events of the War of 1812. Final product was deployed on websites as well as museum touch tables.
  • Constructed a set of web-based applications (iAMP, iCAP, iSAT, iDASH, iTOOL) to supplement the core functionality of a Northrop Grumman portal (DIAMONDportal).
  • Currently in the process of developing a website that will serve as the focal point for recognition of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. Site will initially be used to attract sponsors, including National Geographic and HBO.
  • Built website to promote the OpSail 2012 North American tour of tall ships.
  • Developed and produced a unique site design for Boston Publishing which combines Flash animation with HTML to provide an effective nested layering for improved usability.
  • Developed an interactive web interface for Prudential to help users more easily access information on retirement plans.
  • Built and manage a site which hosts monthly IBM news bulletins.
  • Continue to produce monthly email newsletters for IBM Tivoli, Service Management, and the IBM Software Community.
